Residential and Commercial Committees

The North American Gas Heat Pump Collaborative (NAGHPC) has two technical Committees: The Residential HVAC GHP Committee and the Commercial GHP Committee. These committees are focused on supporting specific gas heat pump products to succeed in the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Residential GHP HVAC Committee

The Residential GHP HVAC (Res HVAC) Committee is focused on advancing residential products in the U.S. and Canada. The Res HVAC Committee has funded a wide range of research and materials in support of this goal, including:

  • Develop industry messaging
  • Market characterization reports
  • Collateral for utility member use
  • Working with manufacturers to overcome market barriers

The Committee is excited to do a variety of other activities in the future!

  • Creating a Technical Resource Manual (TRM) workpaper to help members add residential GHPs to state/province TRMs
  • Supporting trade allies to understand barriers to installation and education

Commercial GHP Committee

The Commercial GHP Committee is focused on advancing commercial GHP products in the U.S. and Canadian markets. Commercial GHP products have been available for over ten years in the U.S. and Canada but have yet to reach substantial market support. This Committee is focused on identifying barriers to market advancement and overcoming identified barriers.

The Committee plans to do this through a variety of activities, including:

  • Funding market characterization research
  • Working with manufacturers to overcome market barriers
  • Identifying and overcoming trade ally challenges
